Dr. Monica Ashley Woodard

Monica Woodard, DDS, MDS
Before settling in Virginia, Dr. Monica Woodard lived in numerous cities across the country and overseas with her military family. She received a Bachelor of Arts in Biology from the University of Virginia. She then earned her dental degree from the University of North Carolina School of Dentistry, graduating with honors. Her orthodontic training was completed at the University of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine, where she earned her Orthodontic Certificate and Master of Dental Science Degree.
In conjunction with the Endocrinology Department at the University of Connecticut, she completed her Master’s thesis entitled, “Cyclooxygemase-2 in Osteosarcoma.” An article, “Overexpression of COX-2 in Human Osteosarcoma Cells Decreases Proliferation and Increases Apoptosis,” based partially on this research, was recently published in Cancer Research.
Dr. Monica Woodard is a board certified orthodontist and a Diplomate of the American Board of …Orthodontics. She is also a member of the American Dental Association, the American Association of Orthodontics, the Tidewater Orthodontic Society, and the John L. McGriff Dental Society.
Dr. Woodard resides in Suffolk and enjoys traveling, cooking and reading in her spare time. She is the daughter of Dr. Thomas Woodard.
