More about Dr. Normand S Boucher
Normand S. Boucher, DDS Dr. Normand Boucher is a board certified orthodontist. He practiced as a family dentist for five years before seeking specialty training in orthodontics and periodontics at the University of Pennsylvania. The last twenty-nine years have been a rewarding balancing act between family life with his wife Lynda and daughters Patrice and Anne-Marie, the practice of orthodontics, teaching, volunteer work, and a never-ending commitment to learning. Dr. Boucher was appointed Chief of Orthodontics at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital from 1982-1987. He subsequently established a full-time private practice in Wayne and Westtown in 1987. His teaching responsibilities with the orthodontic department at the University of Pennsylvania reflect the values of his private practice and include teaching diagnosis and treatment planning for the Six Elements of Orofacial Harmony Orthodontics Philosophy. This approach to treatment emphasizes the health and stability of the bite while achieving optimal esthetic outcomes. With his experience as a general dentist and additional training in the specialty of periodontics, Dr. Boucher is also recognized for his expertise in adult orthodontic treatment. His teaching responsibilities include the orthodontic management of the complex patient with multidisciplinary needs. Over the last decade, Dr. Boucher has received extensive training in hard and soft tissue imaging of the TMJ (temporomandibular joint). Since many “TMJ” patients have less than optimal bites that can contribute to their TMJ condition and facial pain pattern, this added clinical dimension has enhanced the level of patient care. This new direction led to the purchase of a low radiation, digital, three-dimensional imaging system to provide the state-of-the-art diagnostic capability for adolescents and adults. With a belief in the importance of “giving back” to his profession, Dr. Boucher has been active as a volunteer in orthodontics. He has served as President of the Pennsylvania Association of Orthodontics as a delegate to the American Association of Orthodontics, is currently a director with the Middle Atlantic Society of Orthodontics and has recently been appointed to serve on the Council of Insurance with the American Association of Orthodontics. Locally, he has served as President of the Academy of Stomatology, President of the Main Line Dental Society, and has served as a board member for the French International School of Philadelphia. During his spare time Dr. Boucher is a committed road runner and can be found at the start line of many local road races. He is also a blissfully happy high handicap golfer and low key bridge player.
