Dr. Normund Karl Auzins, DDS

Dr. Normund K. Auzins graduated from Indiana University Dental School in 1996 and completed his Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery Residency in 2000.  He became Board Certified in 2002. He served the United States Navy until 2003 with two tours to the Middle East.   He was stationed on the aircraft carrier, USS Theodore Roosevelt and had a faculty position at Portsmouth Naval Hospital.
Dr. Auzins teaches at OHSU School of Dentistry a half day every week.  He lectures locally and keeps up with the latest concepts by attending continuing education courses. He purchased the North Portland practice from Dr. Jan Kooning in 2007, which is close to St. Johns and the University of Portland.  Once in full swing, he opened the St. Helens office in the summer of 2009, which has proven to be a wonderful addition to his practice. His philosophy is simple--to provide excellent care in a relaxed, comfortable setting and to provide that care at a great value.   He will spend as much time with …a patient as needed, and strives to put each patient at ease in an otherwise intimidating field.    
Dr. Auzins donates Saturdays to volunteer with Medical Teams International as needed to provide oral surgery care to those who can not afford it.  He is also involved with overseas volunteer trips to provide oral surgery and assist with cleft lip and palate surgeries in third world countries.  
His wife, Bonnie, helps with the practice as well as telecommuting with a Biotech company in Seattle.   They have a son, Oskar, and enjoy spending family time in the great outdoors. Dr. Auzins is also an amateur jazz drummer.
