I would give zero stars if I could due to the horrible medical problems I had secondary to poor quality of treatment and evaluation I had done. If you value your health, your teeth, and want to know that you’re being properly evaluated, GO ANYWHERE ELSE. In October, I had a crown placed by Dr. Pham on back molar due to a filling that had fallen out resulting in the formation of a large cavity. I was pregnant at that time. Crown procedure went great and we were able to salvage the tooth and avoid a root canal. That’s where the good ends. In January, I returned to clinic for horrible tooth pain in the same general area as where I had my crown placed. After taking a coupe of XRay I was told there’s a couple of other cavities but everything was fine and to schedule further fillings. Two days later I was at my primary care office with a horrendous bacterial sinus infection and soon after a fever of nearly 104. I was given antibiotics and sent on my way. After that treatment failed, I was… given yet another round of antibiotics which also failed landing me with a referral to ENT and continued facial pressure, pain, foul smelling nasal discharge I can only akin to rotting flesh. ENT confirmed there was still an infection and prescribed a THIRD round of antibiotics, systemic steroids, and round the clock nasal rinsing. This also failed. At this point I am almost 3 months in with intermittent fevers, pain, inability to even spend time with my newborn baby because looking down would cause drainage and intense discomfort. Eventually landing me in the emergency room with blurred vision and a CT scan confirming that the tooth that had gotten the crown placed was abscessed and the root of this entire infection. Which all ended with this same tooth being extracted after already paying 1.5k to get it fixed in the first place and will now need an implant. I was able to get a hold of my records to transfer dentists just to see that the XRays done when I first presented with pain in January were poorly done (earrings completely obscuring the affected area on Pano with no attempt to retake images) and the ones that were ok clearly showing an area of periapical lucency concerning for an infection. Which I then ran by a family friend who is a dentist to confirm what I was seeing was correct. Had attention been given to proper evaluation and identification of an issue with someone presenting in pain in an area that recently had work done, all of this could have been avoided. I am now looking at likely chronic inflammatory damage of the sinuses and sinus surgery to fix what could’ve been prevented. And time with my first child I’ll never get back and never was never able to enjoy for 3 months because of negligent care and thousands in costs in my future to replace this tooth. Unacceptable, unbelievable, and sub standard quality of care.
