My dentist retired and I choose the closest dentist, which is Dr. Pen, to my home. I figured he couldn't be bad since I know he has been at the same location for more than 15 years. I should have known something is wrong since he doesn't have a real receptionist - the only nurse there double as a receptionist and Dr. Pen himself answer the calls quite often. Anyway, he did a root canal but didn't drain the infection completely before putting on the crown. Unfortunately, I didn't know that and had him replace an old crown which he unnecessary perform a root canal on the tooth underneath with healthy roots. He removed two out of the three roots but gave up searching for the third, telling me there is only two roots. I went to an Endodontic on my own who found and removed the third root. I made the big mistake of going back to him to put on the crown since I had already paid for the procedure. I suspect he purposely overshaved the tooth when I told him I would not do the bridge there… which was supposed to be the next procedure I needed done. I now have minor throbbing pain from that tooth. I better off keeping the old crown which had a minor chip but no pain. Anyway, he even tried to keep the insurance payment for the bridge which he didn't perform.
