Consumer Beware
Self-verified patient of Patrick Lucaci - Posted on March 14th, 2019
Would not see me unless they did a CT scan with their fancy new machine that insurance doesn't cover. Cost me $300 out-of-pocket. All that my new oral surgeon needed was a $100 panoramic to do my implant.
Felt like his focus was on speed, not the patient.

Dr. Lucaci works with my dentist and does surgery at that office once a month. I have an excellent dentist and expected the same kind of attention from Dr. Lucaci. Unfortunately that was not the case. First and foremost, he gave me the most painful IV insertion I have ever experienced. The pain from that made me almost stand up out of the chair. When we went to the pharmacy to get my prescriptions filled, I learned that he prescribed a form of penicillin, which my history clearly states I am allergic to. When he called later in the evening to see how I was doing I told him we didn't get the antibiotic filled because the pharmacist knew it was penicillin and I would have a reaction. Dr Lucaci apologized and admitted he hadn't looked at my file until after writing the prescriptions. That was strike 2. I was surprised when I learned he would only need about an hour to extract 11 teeth. So I was not surprised when, after the swelling went down, I found I still have a significant amount of either tooth or bone in my top gum. Strike 3. Perhaps if he was not playing "beat the clock" he would have taken more time with the IV and the extractions (all top teeth and 1 bottom) and could have looked at my file. Then he also would have seen that I am diabetic and that avoiding infections, therefore getting the appropriate antibiotic is a major concern for me. I am hoping my regular dentist can take care of the fragment so I don't have to see Lucaci again. Now I will have to pay my dentist to finish the job I've already paid Lucaci to do. The appointment was easy, the office was clean and comfortable because all that is handled by my regular dentist's staff.
