Dr. Paul A Nelson, DDS

Teeth have always played an important role in the Nelson family. Dr. James Nelson enjoyed his work very much and this influenced the entire family: four of his sons followed his footsteps into the dental profession (two orthodontists and two dentists).
Paul received his B.A. in Economics from Brigham Young University and his DDS from the University of Washington. Following dental school, he completed a General Practice Residency at the V.A. Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah. Paul then completed graduate studies in orthodontics at the University of Washington, where he received his orthodontic certificate and master’s degree.
In 1995, Paul joined his father at Nelson Orthodontics where, as Dr. James liked to say with a smile, “the real education began.”
Paul now practices in both Ballard and Magnolia where he carries on the Nelson Orthodontics tradition of excellent patient care delivered in an extremely friendly environment.
Outside of work, Paul can be found spending time …with his wife and four sons and their many activities, which include a wide variety of sports. He coaches an AAU basketball team and enjoys playing basketball and reading in his spare time.
