Dr. Ralph Phelan, a native of Nashua, NH, received his undergraduate degree from the University of Vermont and his dental degree from Georgetown University. He completed his internship at Providence Hospital in Washington, DC, followed by two years in the Air Force Dental Corps. He settled in Concord, NH, in 1973, as an associate of Dr. D. Jackson Freese. In 1977, he purchased Dr. Robert Whittaker's practice and has since been joined by his brother Dr. Raymond Phelan. Dr. Phelan is a member of and past president of the Academy of Operative Dentistry, a member and fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry, and an Associate member of Forensic Odontology. Dr. Phelan enjoys first and foremost helping patients to maintain optimal dental health. He was voted one of New Hampshire's top 10 General Dentists by his colleagues in 2004, 2005, 2006, 2009, 2010, and 2011. Dr. Phelan has studied at the Panky Institute, the Dawson Center, and the Mid-Atlantic Center for …Advanced Dentistry in order to better help patients enjoy functionally sound aesthetics and oral health.
In his free time he enjoys exercising, reading, spending time with his family and a little dancing. He is also a proud grandfather to five little ones. 
P. Raymond Phelan, DMD 
Ray attended the University of New Hampshire and Providence College and graduated from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in 1977. He followed that with a one-year General Practice Residency at Womack Army General Hospital, Ft. Bragg, N.C. After eight years as a general practitioner, he completed a two year Prosthetic residency at Walter Reed Army Medical Center. In 1994, he retired from military service and joined his brother's practice. The goal of the practice is to provide long-term predictable results integrating good sound function with pleasing aesthetics. Toward that end he completes numerous hours of continuing education that focus on restoring patients with long lasting, biologically proven care.
His secret desire is to get patients to the point where he is minimally needed. Away from the office he is addicted to golf, which is usually combined with hikes in the woods. His very favorite activity is spending time with friends and if a grill can be included, all the better!
