Dr. Peter Katz
Dr. Katz grew up in Hartford, Conn., moving to West Hartford in his junior year of high school. He is a 1966 graduate of Weaver High School. He attained his B.A. in English from the University of Connecticut in 1970, and his D.M.D. degree from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in 1974. After graduating from Tufts, Dr. Katz became a member of the U.S. Public Health Service, and was stationed in Englewood, Colo. at the Federal Correctional Institution from 1974-1977. Here he volunteered as clinical faculty for the University of Colorado Dental School, and ran externships for senior dental students and hygiene students. Dr. Katz left the Public Health Service in 1977 with the rank of Lieutenant Commander to return to West Hartford, Conn. to enter into private practice.
He has been practicing dentistry at 125 La Salle Rd since 1977. In addition to his duties in private practice, Dr. Katz is also a dental commissioner for the State of Connecticut, and volunteers …weekly as an assistant clinical professor at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in the Prosthodontics and Operative Department. In his free time, Dr. Katz enjoys many diversions. He is a certified PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer, teaching students at Scuba Shack in Rocky Hill. He also enjoys travelling with his daughters, especially for ski trips in Vail, Colo. and dive trips to Nassau, Bahamas. He is also an avid boater, enjoying trips in and around Long Island Sound with his wife on his Fountain powerboat.
