Dr. Philip Burgess
Dr. Burgess has been practicing family, cosmetic and implant dentistry in the Bird Rock, La Jolla community of San Diego since 1984. He is known for his kindness and superior quality of work. Dr. Burgess and his staff pride themselves on their excellent service. It is important to Dr. Burgess to build a long-term relationship with his patients, while creating for them a custom and personal lifetime plan for a healthy smile.
A native Californian, Dr. Burgess earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of California Santa Barbara (UCSB) and his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from University of Southern California (USC) Dental School. He is a member of the ADA, CDA and SDCDS.Â
Dedicated to providing you with the most modern dental treatments available today, Dr. Burgess is proud to be one of only a few dentists …in San Diego to offer the option of advanced laser dentistry through Waterlase technology. A big believer in continuing education, Dr. Burgess takes many courses and attends seminars. He also participates in numerous study clubs and professional organizations to stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in dentistry.
Dr. Burgess is an avid rower, having raced in the San Diego Crew Classic. He and his wife, Sally, have enthusiastically followed their daughter's many sports teams over the years. Dr. Burgess has enjoyed restoring Packard automobiles and sailing extensively. On the weekends, you'll find him on his small ranch, just a few miles from La Jolla - tending to his horses and orchards. Â
