Meet Dr. Schrager
Philip G. Schrager, DDS
Welcome to my practice! I have been a dentist since 1973, and I enjoy serving the people of our community. I have seen generations of patients grow up and start their own families. It is truly amazing to be a part of our patients' lives and to provide them with a lifetime of oral health.
Education and Continuing Education
For my dental education, I first graduated from Indiana State University with a Bachelor's of Science Degree in 1969. I then earned my DDS from the New York University College of Dentistry, graduating in 1973. Afterwards, I proudly served as a Captain in the Dental Corp at Fort Dix, NJ from July 1973 to July 1975.
In practicing dentistry for over 37 years, I have adapted to many changes in my profession. I am always learning new and improved ways to serve my patients. As a part if my continuing education, I am a charter member of the Raritan Valley Study Club. The club was founded in 1978, and I have been president of the …club twice. This group continues to enhance our knowledge in an informal atmosphere. We bring in guest lecturers on a variety of subjects and present our own cases for discussion.
In addition to the study club, I am also a staff member of the R.W.J. University Hospital Dental Department, and have been attending since 1977. I have also been a member of the American Dental Association and the Middlesex County Dental Society since 1973.
In the Practice
I perform a variety of dental procedures from simple fillings to implant reconstruction. I carry out most of my own oral surgery and endodontic treatments utilizing Brassler rotary instrumentation. I appreciate that I'm able to restore the patient's teeth and gums to a happy and healthy condition.
In our practice, we constantly stress preventative care. This is essential to a lifetime of oral health, and to avoiding complex treatments or dental therapy in the future. I truly care about my patients, and I want each person to keep their teeth for life!
Family and Community
I am originally from Brooklyn, NY, and have lived in New Jersey for 32 years. I have been married for 34 years and have two children and one grandson. My daughter, Dara, is an advertising executive and lives in Atlanta, GA with her husband, Jon, and their son, Elias. My son, Brad, is an attorney who lives in NYC.
In my spare time, I enjoy playing golf and am an avid baseball, basketball and football fan. I am also a crossword puzzle fanatic. I am also active in our community, and volunteer for the Middlesex County Seniors, where I offer dental services to those in need. I have been helping out there since I opened my practice. I am also active in the Marlboro Jewish Center, where I have been a member since 1985.
