My profession is my greatest passion. The satisfaction that it brings to my life to help other people is indescribable. Working with patients is a very rewarding experience because I can see the transformation that occurs in their appearance and how much their confidence grows as treatment progresses. My patients appreciate the hard work my staff and I put forth, and they know that we are doing our best for them.
Education and Continuing Education
For many years I wanted to become an orthodontist. I went to dental school in Guatemala, and getting into orthodontic program in the United States was very competitive, requiring me to revalidate my degree here. Since my dream of becoming an orthodontist took so long for me to achieve, I enjoy every day as if it was my last. I obtained my education at the following institutions:

I teach as an adjutant professor for the University of Florida AEGD department at the Lindsay Hopkins Hospital in Miami. Teaching is one of the best parts of my career, not only because it keeps me updated in the recent literature and research, but because it gives the opportunity to share my knowledge with other dental professionals as well. I also lecture at the local dental societies, maintaining interaction with other specialists, and have had articles published in orthodontic journals.

In the Orthodontic Community
The best way I feel I can help my community is to do something I am good at, so I donate one day per month helping underprivileged children get orthodontic treatment through the Community Smile program at the Lindsay Hopkins Hospital. I am also a member of the following organizations:

Outside the Office
I am a native of Managua, Nicaragua, and have lived in Miami since 2006. When I’m not in the office, I enjoy going to the gym, jogging and playing squash because it keeps me healthy, on the weekends I like to relax playing golf. I really like traveling and reading because it is a great way to learn from other cultures. Since I was swimmer for many years living in Florida is fantastic because it gives me the opportunity to enjoy the outdoors and start practicing some water sports.
I love my family very much. They have been a great inspiration to me and I cherish the time I get to spend with them. My sister and brother are both general dentists and my parents still live in Nicaragua. My mother is a Pharmacist and my father an Industrial Chemical Engineer.
