Dr. Renee Kowal and her staff are proud supporters of Aiden Gallager and BeatingLupus.org. Aiden is a lovely 16 year old girl who was striken with Lupus from a spider bite when she was in 5th grade. Lupus is a chronic autoimmune disease that affects the joints and almost every major organ in the body. It is a potentially fatal disease for which there is no cure at this time.
Aiden's strength, courage, and optimism in fighting this disease are an inspiration to all who come in contact with her. She is looking to make a difference in the world so that other children and people do not have to go through what she is currently going through.
Her Sweet 16 Birthday party on February 20, 2009 at the …Grandview in Poughkeepsie, NY was a fundraiser to benefit various Lupus organizations. To help Aiden look her best at her party, Dr. Kowal donated smile whitening trays to Aiden, while Lisa Allis (our dental hygienist) and her husband David purchased the gown that Aiden wore.
