Dr. Maikon grew up in Ottumwa, Iowa. She graduated from the University of Iowa College of Dentistry in 1988. After graduating 4th her class, she continued her education with a dental residency at the VA hospital in Memphis, TN. She then practiced dentistry in New Ulm, MN before moving to Cedar Rapids. Dr. Maikon joined Dr. David Wolf and was Downtown Dental Associates for several years before moving to her current location. Family SmileCare Center, P.L.C. was started January 1, 2006 when we moved to 32nd street NE. Dr. Maikon loves to expand her education to offer many dental options to her patients. Recently added orthodontics and Invisalign as a general practictioner. Currently she is interested in sleep apnea and how a dental device may help many who suffer from this health problem. Dr. Maikon is a member of the American Dental Association, Iowa Dental Association, University Dental Association, Linn County Dental Society, American Orthodontic Society, and American …Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine. Outside the office, she enjoys being with her daughters, volunteering, and reading.
