Richard A. Brogadir, D.M.D., MAGD was raised in Ansonia and went to Larkin School. He attended Ansonia High School where he was a member of the National Honor Society and graduated with honors.
He studied at Bates College in Lewiston, Maine and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in biology. Dr. Brogadir trained at the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine in Philadelphia, PA, and graduated with a D.M.D. degree. After dental school, Dr. Brogadir completed a dental residency at Waterbury Hospital. He entered private practice in Bethany for two years before opening an office in Ansonia, where he has been creating smiles for many years. Dr. Brogadir is a life time learner and student. To this end, he has constantly taken courses to keep current with all the latest techniques in dentistry.
He is a member of the Academy of General Dentistry where he has been awarded both Fellowship (FAGD),and the Mastership (MAGD) status. In order to …attain these achievements he had to pass a comprehensive exam in all phases of dentistry, take over 1800 hours of courses, and make many presentations before his peers.
Fewer than 1 % of U.S. dentists have attained the MAGD designation.
Dr. Brogadir is a compassionate individual, who listens to his patient's desires and gives them honest assessments of their dental needs. All treatment, costs, and alternatives are clearly presented.
Dr. Brogadir is a past president of the Naugatuck Valley Dental Society, past president of the New Haven chapter of Alpha Omega dental fraternity, a member of the Connecticut State Dental Association, and the American Dental Association.
He is active in his college alumni association, is an area interviewer for prospective students, and is president of his class at Bates College. Dr. Brogadir is an avid reader, jogger and sports fan. He is married to Tina and has three married children and three grandchildren.
