Richard M. Lofthouse Sr, DDS
Dr. Richard (Doc) M. Lofthouse Sr. and his family relocated to Fennimore in 1984 to begin caring for the dental needs of the families of Southwest Wisconsin. He and his wife Sandy have a daughter living in Panama City, Florida where she is an Air Force Dentist, and a son located at Ft. Campbell, Kentucky who is a Blawkhawk helicopter pilot. Dr. Lofthouse has been involved in the Lions Club, the Fennimore Chamber of Commerce and other civic and church …organizations.
Doc graduated with honors from the University of Wisconsin-Platteville in 1976 with a degree in Chemistry & Biology. His dental education was at Marquette University School of Dentistry, graduating in 1982. Dr. Lofthouse then did a one year hospital based General Practice Residency at the VA Medical Center in Dayton, Ohio. After his residency, Dr. Lofthouse was an associate dentist with one of the premiere general dental practices in Centerville, Ohio for two years.
Dr. Lofthouse has been involved with organized dentistry since arriving in Fennimore. At the local level Doc has been Program Chairman, Vice President & President of Southwest Wisconsin Dental Society. At the state level, with the Wisconsin Dental Association, he has been a Delegate to the House of Delegates, a Region Trustee, and now is the Speaker of the House of Delegates. At the national level with the American Dental Association, he has been an Alternate and a Delegate to the House of Delegates.
Dr. Lofthouse retired as a Brigadier General from the Iowa National Guard in 2008 after 31 years of military service.
Dr. Lofthouse is a member of the Academy of General Dentistry, a Fellow of the Pierre Fachard Academy, the American College of Dentists, and the International College of Dentists.
