Dr. Richard Bruce Marill, DDS

Dr. Richard B. Marill, D.D.S, is a Southern California native and a current dental practitioner in Alameda, California whose practice focuses on general and cosmetic dentistry. Dr. Marill has over 20 years of dental experience and practice in Northern California.
Dr. Marill received his Bachelor of Science in Zoology from California State University and earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery (D.D.S) honors degree from the nationally renowned University of the Pacific, Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry institute in San Francisco. During his time at the Dugoni School of Denistry, Dr. Marill was elected as member of the prestigious Tau Kappa Omega dental honor society for his outstanding achievements.
Dr. Marill is an active and accredited member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (AACD) whose mission is dedicated to advancing excellence in the art and science of cosmetic dentistry and encouraging the highest standards of ethical conduct and responsible patient care.
As a …dental practitioner, Dr. Marill serves as an active and contributing member of the World Congressof Minimally Invasive Dentistry (WCMID)organization whose purpose is to educate other dentists, patients and the entire dental industry in the art and science of Minimally Invasive Dentistry (MID) to encourage, facilitate, and assist in scientific research related to MID; and to engage in activities as may be necessary or appropriate to carry out such purposes.
Dr. Marill is a dedicated member of the Academy of General Dentistry (AGD) whose mission is to serve the needs and represent the interests of general dentists, to promote the oral health of the public, and to foster continued proficiency of general dentists through quality continuing dental education in order to better serve the public.
Over the 20 years as a dental practitioner, Dr. Marill continues to evolve in his profession by implementing the latest technology in his dental practice and improving his patients’ oral and overall health.
In 2005, Dr. Marill introduced non-surgical periodontal (gum) treatment with the use of the Laser. In combination with the micro-ultrasonic instruments that remove calculus and tarter form around the tooth and on the roots, the Laser treatment enhances the healing process by removing inflamed tissue and the laser energy helps to speed the healing of the treated areas.
As of 2008, Dr. Marill’s dental office implemented a program, with the health of the patient in mind, called the “Heart Healthy Dental Program.” This new treatment protocol focuses on testing a patients’ blood glucose levels (for diabetes), cholesterol and high sensitive C-Reactive Protein (hs-CRP) which is an indicator for inflammation caused from gum disease, diabetes, heart problems, cancers or any other diseases that may cause inflammation and infection. These types of tests are provided to patients as a preventive measure that may demonstrate whether he/she may have a medical condition that requires attention by ones personal physician. Dr. Marill’s unique dental offerings are what make his practice unique and a passion to keep his patients healthy.
Dr. Marill has also introduced nutritional products produced by Pharmaden, a company focused on products to improve the immune system and to help heal damaged gum tissue and also to help keep the bone level adequate to support the teeth.
