Dr. Richard Dale Rowan, DDS

Dr. Richard Rowan - Orthodontist
Dr. Richard Rowan is a graduate of Merced High School and has enjoyed his many years spent in this community. He attended many of the same schools that his young patients presently attend, and enjoys visiting with them about their experiences as he relates his own.
He graduated from Brigham Young University with a bachelor’s degree in Zoology and immediately began his dental education, attending dental school in St. Louis, Missouri. After he graduated with a Doctor of Medical Dentistry (DMD) degree he felt the desire to specialize in orthodontics, so he continued with his education as an intern at Washington University School of Dental Medicine in St. Louis. As part of his education he obtained a Masters of Science Degree (MSD) in addition to his Orthodontic Specialty degree.
After completing his Orthodontists Degree he became board certified as a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontists (ABO). As a Certified Orthodontist he continues to …expand his orthodontic skills by attending regular continuing education courses. He then offers these new and exiting techniques as part of his orthodontic care for his patients.
Dr. Rowan is a member of numerous dental societies and has served as president of the Yosemite Dental Society. He values his membership in the American Association of Orthodontics, American Board of Orthodontics, Pacific Coast Society of Orthodontists, American Dental Association and the Yosemite Dental Society.
He speaks Spanish fluently. Dr. Rowan loves the Merced and Mariposa areas and in his spare time finds inspiration for his paintings in the landscapes, flowers and vegetation. (www.rowanfineart.com) He also enjoys golf and fly fishing.
