About Dr. Gillum
Dr. Gillum graduated from Indiana University School of Dentistry with honors in clinical dentistry. His favorite clinical instructor would often tell him, "You are gifted with the tools". Early in his dental education, he committed himself to become a master dentist. Dr. Gillum received the prestigious gold foil operator's award for excellence in operative dentistry. He was appointed to be a student instructor and continued as a part time faculty member for a year after graduation.
In 2009, Dr. Gillum celebrated 25 years of practice excellence and continues to be a leader in the area of Comprehensive Dentistry, Orthodontics and Dental Sleep Medicine. He has completed hundreds of hours of coursework in orthodontics, implant dentistry and dental sleep medicine. In 1992 he completed a 3 year course in applied nutrition and was awarded the title of professor of applied nutrition with the American Heath Science Institute.
Richard is a life-long resident of the Southside of …Indianapolis. He currently resides in Center Grove with his wife Shelley and two of their six children. Richard has a passion for self improvement and devotes much of his spare time to family, Contemplative Christianity, gardening and exercise.
Dr. Gillum is a member of the following organizations. The Christian Medical Dental Association, The American Dental Association, The Indiana Dental Association, The International Association For Orthodontics, The American Orthodontic Society, The American Association For Functional Orthodontics, The American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, The American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine and The American Academy of Sleep Medicine.
