Summary
Dr. Richard Skowronski was born and raised in Saginaw, Michigan and graduated from Marquette University School of Dentistry in 1987. He has been a family practice dentist in mid Michigan for 23 years, is a member of the American Dental Asociation and the Michigan Dental Association and is a past president of the Saginaw Valley District Dental Society. He began working as a volunteer dentist to the developing world in 1997, and has served in Chad, Haiti, and the Central African Republic. Dr. Rick maintains an active dental practice in Frankenmuth, Mi. He has been happily married for 25 years and has two adult children.

Currently, Donate A Smile is assisting in the delivery of dental care in Bangui, Central African Republic, a country about the size of Texas located in the very center of the African continent. Bangui is a city of a million people with only four dentists. It's one of the poorest nations on earth. Life expectancy …is around 40. Average income is a dollar a day. Tens of thousands of people are orphaned or widowed, and our research suggests that another three million people live outside the capitol (in the rest of the country), where there are no dentists.
It's one of the few places on Earth where people die from dental problems.
