Dr. Richard L. Taliaferro, D.D.S.
Dr. Richard Taliaferro is a 1983 graduate of the Medical College of Virginia at Virginia Commonwealth University where he received his Doctor of Dental Surgery ( DDS ) degree. He completed a dental general practice residency with the Veterans Administration in 1984 at Martinsburg VA Hospital in Martinsburg, West Virginia. He is active in organized dentistry and holds memberships in the American Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, American College of Dentists, and the Valley Dental Study Club. He has served in several leadership roles in dentistry including serving as an editor of the Virginia AGD Newsletter, on the Board of Directors for the Virginia Academy of General Dentistry and as Virginia Dental Association State Committee Chairman. He also has served as president of the Shenandoah Valley component of the Virginia Dental Association. He has been honored with Fellowship and Mastership in the Academy of General Dentistry and is a …Fellow in the American College of Dentists.
Dr. Taliaferro is active in the local community having served as a United Way division leader. He is a dental volunteer at the Free Medical Clinic of the Northern Shenandoah Valley, has served on the Board of Directors for the Free Clinic and served as President of the Board of Directors for the Free Clinic for the years 2008 and 2009. He is one of founding Board of Directors of the Dental Clinic of the Northern Shenandoah Valley, a nonprofit dental clinic serving the needy. He is also an active member of Stephens City United Methodist Church.
In his spare time Dr. Taliaferro enjoys bicycle riding, running, hiking and being with his wife, Linda.
