Dr. Robert R Canida, DDS

Growing up in Versailles, IN, Bob was introduced to dentistry at a very early age through his father’s dental practice. After completing first grade, Bob’s family moved to Madison where he attended Lydia Middleton Elementary School. He is a 1967 graduate of Madison High School. From there, he went on to Taylor University and the Indiana University School of Dentistry. Bob completed the L.D. Pankey Institute for Post Graduate Dental Education, and also a year long Mini Residency in Oral Facial Pain under Dr. Jeff Okeson at the University of Kentucky College of Dentistry. He also actively pursues regular continuing education in many areas.
As a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Madison, Bob has participated in several missionary trips to foreign locations including Sierra Leone, West Africa, Honduras, Panama, Guatemala, Nicaragua, Haiti, and the Amazon in Brazil.
Bob enjoys athletic activity. He has completed several bicycle trips across America as a dedicated participant with the …Wandering Wheels, where he met his wife Charlotte. Besides cycling, Bob also loves water skiing, rowing, racquetball and volleyball.
Aside from his dental and athletic endeavors, Bob places great importance on community involvement. He is a member of the Human Relations Commission, a board member of Historic Madison, Salvation Army, and La Casa Amiga. He enjoys planting and watching trees mature. He is proud to be part of a group of 12 dentists and 9 hygienists who have started a free community dental clinic at the Salvation Army to serve those in need in the Madison area.
