Dr. Robert Penterson
Dr. Penterson has been practicing dentistry in Midlothian, VA, for over 25 years. He grew up in Mount Kisco, New York, and attended Lehigh University where he graduated magna cum laude with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering. After college, Dr. Penterson was employed as a mechanical engineer for four years, while also attending George Washington University, where he received an MBA degree in Finance. He moved to the Richmond area in 1977 with his wife, Cathy, to attend the Virginia Commonwealth University School of Dentistry and graduated in 1981 with the student award for excellence in periodontics. Dr. Penterson is a member of the Midlothian Dental Study Club, Titanium Implant Study Club, Richmond Dental Society, Virginia Dental Association, American Dental Association and the Academy of General Dentistry. He served on the Board of Directors for the Richmond Dental Society from 2002 to 2005 and teaches part-time at the VCU School of Dentistry.
Dr. Penterson and …his wife, Cathy, reside in Midlothian, VA, and have three children. Lynn joined the practice in May of 2007. Christine and Stephen are attending school in Chesterfield County. In his spare time, Dr. Penterson enjoys skiing, boating, tennis, golf, woodworking, motorcycle riding, and reading.
When asked why he likes dentistry, Dr. Penterson replied, "Dentistry provides me the opportunity to draw from everything I've learned to develop creative solutions for my patients' problems. I love working with my hands, and it gives me great satisfaction knowing I have improved a patient's smile or relieved their pain. At the end of the day, I feel I have contributed something worthwhile to society. Over the years, I have met a lot of interesting people and made a lot of friends."
