Dr. Roland Goldberg

Dr. Goldberg was born and raised in Johannesburg, South Africa, where he completed his Bachelor of Science-Medical (BSc) at the University of Witwatersrand. Dr. Goldberg earned his dental doctorate from the University of Pretoria, South Africa, in 1984. After graduation, Dr. Goldberg served in the South African Defense Force, where he earned rank as a Lieutenant. Following his service, Dr. Goldberg went into private practice in Johannesburg for 10 years. In 1994, Dr. Goldberg underwent further qualification to practice dentistry in the United States and passed his California State Board examination at the UCLA School of Dentistry. He saw a need for a dental office in the University Towne Centre area and started a dental office from scratch. Dr. Goldberg has been practicing in his La Jolla office ever since.
Dr. Goldberg is an accredited member of the American Dental Association, California Dental Association, Alpha Omega Dental Fraternity, the American Osseointegration Academy, and …the American Academy of Implantology . Dr. Goldberg has been acclaimed as one of the best dentists in the La Jolla area and feels so grateful for having such awesome patients. Dr. Goldberg is happily married to his wife, Myrice, and loves spending time with his four children, Justine, Jarrod, Lara, and Nicole. He spends his time outside of work hanging out at the beach, working out at the gym and training his two miniature shelties, Cassie and Baxter.

Nine years ago at an Implantology Dental Conference in Boston, I had the pleasure of hearing Professor Per-Ingvar Branemark, also known by his trade name as the “father of modern implantology.” Before a crowd of nine thousand doctors from all over the world, this world-renowned professor began his lecture by first introducing us to his “family”--a slide containing pictures of all his patients unto whom he had performed implant treatment. The sheer subtlety for which this noble man expressed his love, gratitude and admiration for his patients encapsulates a value that I am proud to share. More than anything, that introduction reinforced the admiration and personal care that I have for you--my patients--my Family.
