I was referred to Dr. Auvenshine after a number of dentist grossly failed in their approaches to help the problems I was having due to years of grinding my teeth day and night.
When I first saw him (over 20yrs ago) he was warm welcoming and very willing to spend time with me. He investigated my symptoms, then created an unique approach to my TMJ problems. I believe that no other doctor can do what Dr. Auvenshine does.
My husband a few ago hurt his jaw while eating nuts. He went to see the doctor. Yes he is wearing an appliance just like I am, but it it is for a different reason.
People just don’t understand that the appliance that works for one problem also works for other problems.
For example the appliance I wear greatly helps my teeth grinding symptoms and also the muscles that have been stretched over the years ( probably by dental work) on each side of my face allowing the jaw to slip (on both sides).
While my husband has what can be described as a slip disc on one side and the appliance helps keep that aligned by wearing it at night.
I also have a sever case of Trigeminal Neuralgia and the doctor has not once dismissed that fact.
I just wanted to write this because I have had to go to an obscene number of doctors to have my Trigeminal Neuralgia treated and I have experienced the whole spectrum of good to bad docs. And I want to make it clear that Dr. Auvenshine is a man of integrity.

I visited with this dentist for TMJ issues. It was supposed to be "resolved" over a 6 months period. Twelve months later I had paid approximatey $5,000 and the pain and deterioration of those 2 joints has only gotten worse. Go somewhere else.

Thankfully I minimized my losses with this guy by only going through the initial appointment. Total waste of money ($500 for initial consult) and time.

I was referred to Dr. Auvenshine by our Orthodontist. He stated that my son's muscle has popped out of socket and needed to be fixed. The cost will be 5K which I would be more then willing to pay. We asked for an MRI to make sure that we are not diagnosing blindly because there is no image to suggests this. All was from feeling and "guessing" work using other equipment measuring vibration. His office promised to set the MRI appointment up for us. I followed up when I did not hear from his office, and Nadia told me that she will set it up and call me back; even though, it is not a usual practice to get an MRI in which Dr. Auvenshine suggested it to me during our consult session with him. It has been 2 months and I have not heard back from his office. What a waste!!!!

This DDS is a veritable Quack! He provides the same treatment for every patient. I had Trigeminal Neuralgia and he told me to just "Quit imagining you have TN. You have TMJ." He charges high dollar for a basic mouth guard. When I would tell him that I was in severe pain, he'd tighten/adjust the mouth piece and tell me to take an Ibuprofen. He says the SAME thing to everyone. If I asked him a question, he felt taken aback like "how dare you question my authority." He made me nervous and I did not get individualized treatment. It was all like an assembly line. Do not use this money hungry quack!
