Dr. Ronald L. Rhea is currently the President-Elect of the Texas Dental Association and will be installed as President in May of 2010.
Dr. Rhea received his Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics from the University of Texas in Austin and his Doctorate of Dental Surgery Degree from the University of Texas Dental Branch in Houston. 
Dr. Rhea has been very active in the organizations of dentistry and has served in many elected and appointed positions including as Director of the Greater Houston Dental Society and President of the GHDS in 1996, Vice President of the Texas Dental Association in 2001 and as a Delegate of the TDA and the American Dental Association for many years.
Dr. Rhea served several years as Chairman of the Department of Dentistry of Memorial Hermann Hospital-Memorial City, was nominated as Texas Academy of General Dentistry’s Texas Dentist of the Year in 2001 and 2006 and is a Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry, the American College of Dentists …and the International College of Dentists.
Dr. Rhea’s activities outside of dentistry include having served on the Board and as President of Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Houston, having earned a 7th Degree Black Belt from the United States Judo Association, having completed three marathons and summiting Mount Rainier in Washington.  His hobbies include woodworking, cooking and backpacking.
Dr. Rhea is most proud of his family.  His wife since dental school, Kay, is a Crystal Apple Award winning sixth grade science teacher; his son Sean is a PhD computer scientists with Meraki Corp. in San Francisco and his son Darren and his wife Anna are graduate student instructors and tutors at the University of California at Berkeley.  Lastly, the dog Buddy is a 133 pound blond lab mix who performs as a tail wagging love sponge.
