The offices are gorgeous and the office staff is friendly enough. Getting an exam and cleaning is fine. But for root canals and other major work, Dr. J seems rough, rushed, old-fashioned, and unconcerned with patient comfort. Not very liberal about numbing the gums, using gas, or making the patient comfortable. The only antibiotic he would prescribe was penicillin, and the only pain medication for recovery was codeine, both of which I'm allergic to. Since those are 2 of the most common allergies, you'd think they'd adopt other options. I now go elsewhere. My daughter likes them well enough for regular cleanings, but they keep pushing me to do a very expensive palate expander or braces for her teeth, which are not really noticeably crooked. That seems excessive and more about money than necessity. Also, they will call incessantly about scheduling your next visit. I prefer to call when I'm ready and not be pestered.

I would not recommend this dentist to anyone. He has his poorly trained dental assistants performing procedures on his patients while he goes to see other patients. This is his way to make more money, which places his patients are significant risk. Indications for procedures he recommends are marginal if present at all. The quality of his work is poor, partly because he delegates it to his assistants. At first visit, he and his staff seem kind and considerate. However, kindness does not overcome their incompetence. Beware.
