Dr. Samer Shamoon

CHICAGO (July 14, 2009) –The Academy of General Dentistry (AGD) is pleased to announce that Sam G. Shamoon, DDS, of Birmingham, Michigan received the 2009 Lifelong Learning & Service Recognition (LLSR) for his commitment to lifelong learning, volunteer services to communities in need, mentorship to associates and new dentists, and participation in organized dentistry. Dr. Shamoon received this award along with sixteen other dentists during the AGD’s 57th Annual Meeting & Exhibits, in Baltimore, Md., July 8-12, 2009.
The LLSR is a formal acknowledgment of the AGD Mastership awardees. AGD Masters who receive this additional recognition must have completed more than 1,600 hours of continuing dental education in all disciplines of dentistry, including 550 hours dedicated to hands-on skills and techniques and more than 100 hours of service to the community primarily through the Royal Oak Rotary Club.

This prestigious award symbolizes Dr. Shamoon’s desire to give back to the community. By embracing the core beliefs of the AGD throughout his career, Dr. Shamoon sets a higher standard that all general dentists are encouraged to emulate.
Dr. Shamoon graduated from University of Detroit School of Dentistry in 1985 and currently practices dentistry in Berkley, Michigan. In addition to the AGD, Dr. Shamoon is a member of the W. G. Sutherland Temporomandibulo Cranial Dental Group, The Cranial Academy, American Academy of Gnathologic Orthopedics, Holistic Dental Association, Delta Sigma Delta Professional Fraternity and the Royal Oak Rotary Club.
Dr. Shamoon is married to Rosemary and has three children, Paul, Patric and Peter.
