My mom spent two weeks in shoreline Corpus Christi and was sent home with a collapsed lung and the feeding tube still down her throat when it was supposed to have been taken out. The Dr refused to drain her lung before she was discharged so now she is laying in front of me gasping for air, her life slipping away. She was tested twice for the virus and both tests came back negative. They refused to give her a blood transfusion so the poison built up to the point that her kidneys failed. I know to the professionals that were trusted with taking care of my mom see this kind of suffering day in and day out and they proved that they didnt care, to me this is my Mom, the woman who gave birth to me and taught me to respect women and took care of 8 of us growing up and we left her care in the hands of people who were supposed to take care of her and this is how she is going to spend her last hours? Gasping for air, and not a dam thing I can do about it but watch her die. We turned her on her… side and found she was soiled and with sores that were bleeding and her whole bottom was black because of the sores. Is it because she was old? Is it because she was going to die anyways? She has kids, grandkids, great grandkids, friends, all who love her dearly and I love her more than she will ever know. Now I will sit here and watch my mom pass but when this is all over I will make all of this know to the public that this is how our loved ones are being treated.

I had the best care imaginable while in ICU at Spohn Shoreline....nurses, doctors, technicians, around the clock care. I can’t imagine being anywhere else when an emergency arises, angels from heaven, one and all!!!

I was extremely ill and received the very best care ever at Spohn Shoreline ICU a little over a week ago. Everyone was extremely kind and performed their jobs with the utmost professionalism and compassion. I could not have asked for better care! Thank you to all the ICU nurses and staff!
