Summary
Dr. Bhanji was born in Uganda, Africa. She then moved to Great Britain to continue her high school education. Dental care was scarce in her Ugandan hometown and it was necessary for Dr. Bhanji to wait until she moved to the United Kingdom to treat her tooth ache. The dentist she met there adeptly cured her pain, sparking an appreciation and interest in dentistry that would not come to fruition for another two decades.
She then went on to earn a B.S. with honors in microbiology from the University of Guelph in Canada. Following graduation, she took a hiatus from the sciences to raise her two sons. Succumbing to a passion she could not ignore, she pursued a career in dentistry, graduating from The University of North Carolina and completed a residency in pediatric dentistry at The University of Washington.Â
Dr. Bhanji's dedication to children and her continued commitment to dental education have earned her recognition as a leader in her field. She has received the top national …award for research from the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. She is a Diplomate of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry and has held office as the President of the Washington State Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. She also has a high level of commitment to keeping abreast of new developments in technology in dentistry. She consistently attends educational courses in the USA and internationally.
In her spare time Dr. Bhanji enjoys playing tennis, cycling, practicing yoga and traveling.
