Meet Dr. McDowell
Dr. Shane McDowell was born and raised in Washington, Pennsylvania and attended Washington and Jefferson College where he received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology.
He continued his education at the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine where he received a Doctor of Medical Dentistry degree. After earning his DMD degree, Dr. McDowell spent one year completing a General Practice Residency at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Pittsburgh. Following his General Practice Residency, he practiced in Butler, Pennsylvania for one year prior to relocating to Fort Myers, Florida and joining Dr. Gary Snyder in the summer of 2005.
Dr. McDowell has special interest in the fields of restorative, cosmetic, and implant dentistry. He has completed numerous hours of continuing education with world renowned dentists Peter Dawson, Frank Spear, Carl Misch and Ray Bertollotti. He takes great pride in staying up-to-date on all of the latest materials and techniques.

In his free time, Dr. McDowell enjoys spending time with his wife, Hope, who is a Pediatric Dentist, and his two daughters, Erin and Molly. He also enjoys weight-lifting, martial arts, boating, watching the Pittsburgh Steelers and any football game in general.
He is also active in the Cypress Lake United Methodist Church and involved in the South Fort Myers Rotary Club. He also gives back to the local community by helping out in the Lee County's dental clinic for the needy.
