Dr. Sharon J Durrett

Dr. Sharon Durrett was born and raised in the Tampa Bay area, graduating from Clearwater Central Catholic High School. She attended the University of Florida in Gainesville for a total of 12 years working toward multiple degrees and certifications. After four years of undergraduate studies, she received a Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology and Cell Science, with a minor in Chemistry. She then attended the College of Dentistry for four years, earning a Doctor of Dental Medicine degree followed by completion of a one-year Orthodontic Research Fellowship. In May 2004, Dr. Sharon Durrett completed a three-year Orthodontic Residency to become certified in Orthodontics. During her residency, she also earned a Master of Science degree for her research on the use of attachments during treatment with Invisalign®, which she received training to become certified for treating patients with Invisalign®
Dr. Durrett is Board certified by the American Board of Orthodontics. She is an active …member of the American Association of Orthodontists, Southern Association of Orthodontists, Florida Association of Orthodontists, American Dental Association, Florida Dental Association and West Coast District Dental Association.Dr. Durrett is a member of the St. Joseph's Children's Craniofacial team which provides pediatric patients with a comprehensive, multi-disciplinary approach to treating cleft and craniofacial anomalies
She is happy to be back in the Tampa Bay area and is excited to serve the local community. She enjoys spending time with family and friends, running, traveling and attending Gator football games. Go Gators!
