Dr. Simona Cuevas

Dr. Cuevas was recommended to me by a friend. My first appointment was thorough and pleasant. They informed me of the most important treatment necessary, went over my fees & options. I was in charge of what and when. I decided what to start with and what I wanted to wait on. There was no pressure or weird “sales tactics”. I trust Dr. Cuevas and her team.

Dr. Cuevas' staff were professional. Dr. Cuevas was professional & seemed thorough, but her manner was brusque. She disagreed with the orthodontic treatment I'd been receiving for 2 years, even though she's not an orthodontist & I hadn't asked for orthodontic advice. She decided she couldn't provide my general dental care & rejected me and my family of 4 as patients at my initial visit. However, she refused to give me a copy of her exam. She even had the audacity to bill me, even though I got nothing from her.

Dr. Cuevas is very thorough and knowledgeable, and after a detailed exam (not rushed like most other dentists), we decided TOGETHER on my treatment plan. She also recommended a mouthguard. I've had other mouthguards in the past, but this one is a game-changer: I am now finally able to get good night's rest with no aches and pains in the morning. The staff was also very knowledgeable and assisted me in filing not only my dental insurance, but also my medical insurance, to minimize my out-of-pocket! I'm glad I found Dr. Cuevas.

I understand that one of the primary reasons that people work is for money, but I received high pressure sales pitches from the moment I walked in the door to the moment that the staff of Dr. Cuevas' office and I mutually agreed to not schedule another appointment. Before I went in to see the dentist I had to sign a form that stated that I agreed to say 'yes' to all of the treatments that she recommended. She came in and recommended that I fill in a hole that my insurance wouldn't even cover and buy a special mouth guard that only she sold (or some foolishness like that) that cost over $1,000! Apparently, it was the only effective treatment for my problem. I was also told that I need a cleaning. OK, but I needed a cleaning with a desensitizing treatment. I have never heard of that before. I have never had a painful tooth cleaning. What does this office use? Belt sanders? Needless to say, when I was asked when I wanted to schedule my cleaning plus desensitizing treatment, I said that I… didn't need desensitizing treatment and was told that [I wasn't picked for rescheduling]<--- paraphrased. I want healthcare professionals who haven't allowed greed to overshadow ethics. Trying to fill my teeth when they don't need it and administer drugs that I don't want to take is unacceptable. I'll be looking for someone less tacky.
