Dr. Sonal Shah, DDS

I took my daughter for her first Dentist visit/checkup and i'm definitely not going back. her idea of calming my kid was actually scaring her. The dentist hygienist was more patient and caring. Dr. Shah maybe knowledgeable but NOT friendly with kids at all.

Wonderful dentist with a heart for her patients. Disagree with all of the negative reviews here.

I have been taking my children to her office for past ten years. Dr Shah has been very knowledgeble about her profession. She is amzing with kids and keeping them calm and fearless all the time. She always shares the treatment plan with me in great detail and follows through after the procedure. Her staff is very friendly and caring. My kids love to visit her office. You will be happy once you visit her office.

I think this dentist lacks kindness & gentleness. I don't think she should be working with children.

I have to disagree with the previous post, I have taken my children to this office a few times and have had fantastic experiences, I will say, the first time I was a little nervous about sending them in back without me but it is an open area back there and they were sitting next to other children and did fantastic. When I brought my son back to get his fillings taken care of the staff was awesome starting as soon as we walked in, the ladies up front talked to him and explained what needed to be done, when the dental assistant came to get him he told me she did a little show and tell type thing with all of the instruments that would be used in the procedure so there were no surprises. He said he was very comfortable for the procedure, he was happy, I was happy! I have referred several friends to the office and they have also told me that their experiences at the office went very well.

Dr. Shah's idea of keeping a child calm is to basically scare them! My 3 yr old started to fidget and clench his teeth during cleaning and she told him to stop or she will "make mommy go away". Naturally, he started to cry only to hear that "now he made the little girl cry too" (there was no little girl in the room!)She concluded that he has a cavity that needs to be fixed right away, and with the use of a restraining blanket. Is her goal to traumatize toddlers?! This happened two years ago, he has no cavities according to both my dentist and his new peds dentist. She is incompetent to work with small children, I know that after taking my kids to a new dentist who truly is gentle and caring.
