I lost booth teeth within 3 months of a re-root canal, and then was billed almost 3 years later. Bill came without any backup documentation but with a note that it would be sent to collections within 30 days

My experience was not a good one. Went to have impressions made for sleep apnea apparatus. •Had several appliances to show but not the one she was going to order for me. Off handedly said Google it. •Took x-rays-proceeded to tell me I needed a root canal/crown and work on another tooth/crown. Just had dentist appt and was told all was well. Called dentist and he requested notes about my visit to Avant but Avant refused to send them. My office visit was 31/2 hours and no notes! •Went to my dentist and he sent me for a second opinion. Both my dentist and second opinion dentist said I did not need any work done. •Asked if I could sit with chair partially up rather than flat on my back during root canal, due to anxiety, if I did get root canal. Absolutely not was her answer. She said I needed medication. •I honestly felt that Dr. Avant priorities were misplaced. Money first, patient’s comfort and ease a poor second. •After going to my dentist and getting a second opinion both… agreeing no work needed to be done, her push for medication and lack of compassion for me as a patient, I called and cancelled the sleep apnea apparatus and appt for root canal/crown.

These people are idiots and dont know how to process insurance claims. They will screw you every time

Dr. Avant is simply the best! I have been to her more than once & each time it is a wonderful experience. I would recommend her to anyone.

The Doctor and Staff were very helpful, friendly and caring. I was able to get a much needed appointment right away as a new patient and the Doctor helped me & treated me immediately. From my initial phone call throughout the entire process (root canal) everyone was professional, extremely helpful (with insurance, referrals, explanations, follow-up, etc.) and compassionate. They also wanted to know how I was doing the next day. I highly recommend this Doctor and Office and am so happy I found it.

I was referred for a root canal and put it off as long as I could. I had asked several friends and one name for exceptional care kept popping up. I made an appointment and the process was simple and painless. While it was not cheap, I wasn't looking for the cheapest endodontist, I was looking for the best. Great follow-up as well though no issues presented. I literally have no idea where those here with poor reviews have come from, likely other competing oral surgeons! I have nothing but positive things to say here and would gladly go back if needed

I strongly suggest that you never go to Dr Avant. Money hungry, extremely unprofessional to her staff in front of patients and will do the most extreme work that is not even needed. I had 2 root canals done on the same day and retuned a week later as a general follow-up. She asked how they felt and I said one was just a little irritated but nothing out of the ordinary since I've had others in the past and takes time to heal, especially only being a week. Before you know it, she is trying to knock me out to go back in without much explanation. I assumed perhaps just slight infection she was draining?!? I learned after she performed an apicoectomy all done with novacaine (supposed to be put under) then sent home with blood pouring out of my mouth and stiches I wasn't aware that I had. Needless to say, most stiches came out within a few days, many returns to her office to only get pain meds but no answers and am left with permanent nerve damage for which she stated would return. Not to… mention it was $800 my portion from insurance that took her over a year to cash so I stopped payment. She then turned me on for collections. Several other dentist have said what was she thinking doing this procedure at all on the tooth not telling you what she was doing, the risk involved or the cost. Now almost 4 years later, I am home today (had to leave work) with a swollen face and an infection from this tooth plus severe pain. I had to have another dentist file all my left upper teeth up so the upper and lower teeth don't touch because of the pain. I live everyday of my life with my jaw feeling like it's in a vice. Not to mention being left broke after shelling out almost $6-$8k. I have not been able to chew food on my left side in 4 years and unable to enjoy life because of the daily pain this woman caused. No remorse at all. I know several others with many other complaints. Previous statement correct, nice as pie if she is making a lot of money. Plain and simple, she should of either left the tooth alone or given me the option to have it pulled ALL with full explanation on both options. Please be aware and always ask questions even if you have to ask them several times to understand and not be rushed.

Dr Avant was great. Painless. I would recommend Dr Avant. Very friendly.

Had root canal, and Dr. Avant filled the tooth. Some time later the crown of the tooth became loose and felt like it was coming off. I telephone the Dr's office, gave a description of the problem and made an appointment to have the Dr. examine the problem. Shortly after making an appointment I received a call from the Dr.'s office cancelling the appointment with the statement that the Dr. accepted no responsibility whatsoever for the problem. I went to see my regular dentist who took xrays, etc and told me that the filling had collapsed and damaged my crown and that I would need a new crown. I replaced the crown for around $1,000 total. Some time later my gum where the root canal was performed swelled and became very painful. Also, the tooth was painful when pressure was applied. I went to see my regular dentist who took xrays, etc. Diagnosis cyst and infection due to all material not being removed when Dr. Avant performed the root canal. I was referred to a Dentist who… did an excellent job of root canal repair. Total out of pocket expense around $3,000 for original root canal, replace damaged crown, and root canal repair.

Dr Avant and staff were exceptional! Friendly, professional, caring individuals, I am so happy I chose Dr Avant! My first root canal and I was very apprehensive of course, as most people are going to any Dr. or Dentist. No one wants to have a root canal. They even made all the arrangements with my regular dentist to see me same day as the root canal to finish up the procedure, so everything was completed the same day. I had just slight discomfort, if you can call it that, for the first 24 hours around the tooth area, just done yesterday, and I don't foresee any trouble coming. The office called me today to see how I was doing, I never had that kind of follow up before!! Thank you Dr Avant and staff!!
