Meet Dr. Turner
Dr. Stan Turner grew up in Abilene attending local schools, graduating from Abilene Christian University in 1976. He received his DDS from Baylor College of Dentistry in Dallas, Texas, upon graduation in 1981. He returned to Abilene establishing a private practice in cosmetic and family practice.
Dr. Turner has been a member of the American Dental Association and the Texas Dental Association since 1981. As a member of the local 17th District Dental Society, he served as the board president in 1996-1997. He has been a member of the POGO Academy Study Group in Dallas since 1989, and is a sustaining member of the Academy of General Dentistry. He is currently studying for his Fellowship Certification with the AGD.
With more then 27 years in private practice, Dr. Turner is committed to excellence for his patients. He spends 50 hours or more per year refining his skills and knowledge in advanced continuing education courses. Areas of study include: cosmetics, implants, …pedodontics and orthodontics. He places a high priority on staying up to date with the latest technological advances in patient care and equipment available. He enjoys interacting with patients and producing quality dental care in a friendly, compassionate, and relaxed environment with Christ as his example.
Dr. Turner and his wife, Bonnie, have a daughter who is a RN at a pediatric hospital in the metroplex. Their son is currently a student at UT Dental School in Houston. They worship at Southern Hills Church of Christ where he has served as a deacon. Dr. Turner has been associated with the Boy Scouts of America since 1992 as a scout master, supervising adult training, and serving on the Board of Directors. When out of the office, he loves to bow hunt, work with his bird dogs, golf, and spend quality time with family.
