I was a patient of Dr. Ballentyne for years but I never felt I ever received the best treatment or received answers to my questions. When I asked questions she would just look at me and shake her head, without ever giving me any closure for my concerns. Luckily most of my visits were cleanings and I really enjoyed her hygienist they were great. Now my problem started when I had a problem with my wisdom tooth that was pretty minor being I’ve heard horror stories of people suffering from resurfacing wisdom teeth. Anyways the first treatment she sought out for was for an extraction i agreed because she never communicated enough to discuss other options. Now this is where the problem came in almost after an hour or close to 2 of pain and holding my mouth open while pulling at a tooth that didn’t even budge a little bit she broke my tooth off! At that point I felt like I came this far I may as well sit through however long for her to extract the pieces. But she didn’t remove it she said… she had to send me to a specialist to remove it at that point since it was broke. I thought since she was the doctor she would have known this would’ve had to happen if u constantly tugging at a tooth for over a very painful hour. Now keep in mind this pain still occurred after numbing! Well $750 later the out of pocket price I had to pay up front for the oral surgeon she had the nerve to send me a bill for an extraction she never extracted. I spoke to her front desk receptionist Barbara who was so rude and nonchalant about the deal all she was concerned with is collecting that money. I guess she forgot the fact she assured me my flex card would pay for this electric tooth brush they were pushing on customers once they found you had a flex card , well the didn’t so there was another bill over a hundred dollars I had to pay for a toothbrush. It took everything in my power to write this post but this has bone on my heart for almost a year. I felt someone needed to know my expirience. I’m not going to even mention the horrible crown and some weird procedure she used to fill in a chip in my tooth that left a horrible brown streak in my tooth where the sealant or glue set in and my tooth now looks like some misplaced square piece that supposed to be a tooth. I don’t smile as much because of it. But at the end of my tunnel there was light I went to Midtown Denistry and cosmetics Denistry where there is state of the art equipment he explained everything that needed to be done thoroughly and for a crown and a veneer for my side tooth my out of pocket is only $400 to clean up that mess. I am grateful I went there because I thought I was just stuck with this horrible mess in my mouth. What I wrote is the truth and I really hope her and Barbara is reading this be cause I was always and easy patient to please so there was no need to be rude to me and demand money for something i never received I think complimentary she should have just ate that$70 and I would have probably still been a patient because of my loyalty and also the fact at the time I thought I had received the best care. If you have good insurance and need major work done I definitely would chose some where else to go. But if u need basic cleaning I would recommend her because her hygienist or great
