Stephen S. Luddington, DDS, MS
I am a second-generation orthodontist, so I share the love of orthodontics with my father and brother. I learned to appreciate the art and science of orthodontics while working with my father, and I truly enjoy helping people smile with confidence. I have been helping the people of our community since 1994, and I love getting to know each of my patients and chatting with them.
Education
Prior to becoming an orthodontist, I attended the University of Washington for my dental degree. I then completed my Orthodontic Residency at the University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Dentistry where I graduated with honors. Afterwards, I received my Master of Science also at the University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Dentistry.
Continuing Education
As a part of my continuing education, I attend conferences and workshops with various dental and orthodontic organizations. I strive to maintain and build my knowledge of …orthodontics and learn about new technology. Technology is changing all around us, and I believe in giving my patients the opportunity to have choices in their treatment.
In the Practice
We like to have fun in our office. The atmosphere is fun, relaxed, and professional. We love to celebrate and dance with our patients to their chair when they are getting their braces off! We also have an annual "Surf 'n Swim" party every July. At this party, we rent out the local wave pool and swimming pool and invite all our patients, families, and their friends to join us for an evening of fun! It is a great opportunity for us to get to know our patients outside of the office.
I have the best team ever! My Office Coordinator, Daria, who works with patients and parents regarding financial or insurance information, does a fabulous job at making new patients feel comfortable in our office. My amazing assistants, Cheryl, Terri, Hilary, Kara, and Annelise, are not only very competent in orthodontic assisting but are also great at interacting with the patients - they really do take a personal interest in what the patients are doing in their lives. Rounding out my fantastic team are Pam and Terri. They are the smiling and cheery faces of the office who are great at scheduling our patients to fit a schedule that is convenient for the patient, parent, and the office.
Family Life
I am originally from Bountiful, Utah, but I truly love Fruit Heights, where I have lived since 2002. My wife, Kimberly, and I have four children named Annelise, Adrienne, Jacob, and Markelle. We also live with our dog, Shorti! In my spare time, I enjoy skiing, golfing, fishing, and spending time with my family, of course!
