Dr. Valdis Svans, DDS
Dr. Svans was born in Latvia and grew up in Brazil. In 1960 he came to the United States and has been living in Marin for almost 40 years. He graduated at the top of his class at the University of California at San Francisco Dental School in 1968. That same October he opened his first practice in San Francisco. He became a member of the faculty at UCSF Dental School, where he taught prosthetics and received additional postgraduate training.
Dr. Svans is a pioneer in Cosmetic Dentistry, and one of the earliest advocates of the use of porcelain veneers and dental implants in cosmetic makeovers and full mouth reconstructions.
