Dr. Zachary Ray Johnston

The office drastically overcharged me based on a misunderstanding on their end followed by downright refusal to issue a refund until I had to make a complaint with my insurer. Staff then tried to disparage my character. I fought using my insurer's legal commitment with its providers and was able to be refunded. But less than a month after three visits to repair a broken crown, the crown popped off. So, I couldn't even compliment his work at this point. Very disappointing and frustrating.

My family has used Zach for years, he and his staff are always friendly and knowledgeable.

To be matter-of-fact about the ordeal I never had an issue with my insurance benefits, the limitations of my dental insurance or co-pay portions. I had a procedure completed that was listed on the dental plan I received from your office with a price listed. The day of the procedure I paid a different price which I didn’t realize until after I left your office, I called to ask Susan why the difference she became aggravated and very short with me and stated she could not tell me about anyone else’s insurance she could only tell me about my insurance and that my insurance didn’t pay the entire amount due for the last procedure. (If that was the case I never received any notice from your office.) Well I didn’t ask about anyone's insurance. Then she asked could she have a number to call me back, I stated no I’ll call you back. She did call back and have the audacity to give a half-baked apology for being short with me due to your office being shorthanded. Even after this incident I decided… to come back as I said previously I thought you and Susie were awesome. But after the last visit, and six months of contemplating on giving my money to an office that apparently could care less and your response to my review and reading your responses to the reviews that were dissatisfied with your office (They seemed a bit on the unprofessional side of things.), yes the route I’m taking is with a new dentist. Additionally, there are multiple reviews concerning Susan aka your Mother-in-law’s negative actions on Google and Yelp. So, I did not imagine her non-customer skills behavior. God Bless… Yes, Dr. Johnston is amazing, Susie the Dental Hygienist is also amazing. Unfortunately, I have decided not to return due to Susan who is the receptionist/Insurance Specialist (allegedly) aka Dr. Johnston's mother-in-law, she apparently has no idea what customer service is in this day and time when the city of Memphis is full of dental offices. The one star is for Susan and if I could I would give Dr. Johnston & Susie 10 Stars! I wish you the best Dr. Johnston. Have a Great

I visited Dr. Johnston's office in Mid-Town I had a horrible experience. After Dr. Doctor installed a crown, I started to experience horrible pain. I went back into the office and told the receptionist that something was wrong. Dr. Johnston, came in and talked so ugly to me. He was angry because I told the receptionist that something was wrong. The receptionist explained to me that Dr. Johnston was practicing medicine sometimes he gets it right and sometimes he doesn't. Horrible!!!!

Came in because I didn't like my previous dentist and had a tooth problem. Dr. Johnston and his staff are the best I've ever seen.
