Dr. Zachary Strauss
Zachary Fidelis Strauss was born in Charlottesville, Virginia on December 10, 1968, the eldest of five children born to The Honorable Charles J. Strauss and Angela Farley Strauss McConnell. Zac began his formal education in Richmond, VA at St. Bridget's School. After completing the 5th grade Zac moved with his family to Virginia Beach where he attended Virginia Beach Junior High and graduated from First Colonial High School. ('87).
In the fall of 1987 Zac moved to Steamboat Springs, Colorado. He subsequently joined the U.S. Army where he was a member of the 18th Airborne Corp Artillary. Stationed at Fort Bragg, NC, Zac served in Operations Desert Shield/Stonn. After completing his military obligation, Zac moved to Pocatello, Idaho where he completed his undergraduate studies at Idaho State University ("97). Zac earned a BS in Microbiology with an emphasis in Medical Technology and a minor in Chemistry. In July of 1995 Zac welcomed the birth of his daughter, Zoe. …After graduation Zac worked until 1999 in Pocatello for American Microsystems Incorporated in their semi-conductor plant. In 1999 Zac moved back to Richmond, VA where he matriculated at the Medical College of Virginia School of Dentistry (now VCU School of Dentistry). He was awarded his DDS in May, 2005.
Dr. Strauss entered into dental practice in Newport News, V A with Caring For Kids and Parents. From 2006 - 2007 he practiced with Dr. Edward Gardener in Richmond, VA. In late 2007 Dr. Strauss began working with Family and Cosmetic Dentistry in Mechanicsville, VA. In 2008 Dr. Strauss purchased this established practice.
Dr. Strauss is a member of the American Dental Association, The Academy of General Dentistry, The Virginia Academy of General Dentistry and The Richmond Dental Society.
Of note, Dr. Strauss and his team are regular participants in the Mission of Mercy Dental projects that take place all around Virginia. They also participate with Donated Dental Services.
