Dr. David J Caldarella, MD

Dr Caldarella did surgery on both if my feet on separate occasions. From the 1st appt. to the last Dr Caldarella was thorough, careful to explain details, surgical procedure, results and terrific to work with. A very nice man. I highly recommend him and his great staff.

This guy didn’t even look at my feet and chose to play the untouchable surgeon, repeatedly stated my inability to walk was not a huge priority since I’m not a professional athlete and have a non physical job. It seemed to please him to be in a position to play god in that specific capacity. And he was 2 1/2 hours late for one of my appointments.

Most importantly, I believe my foot is in worse shape after surgery, will be getting an opinion. Inconsistent guidance from one apt to the other, cast was put on incorrectly requiring it to be sawed off and replaced, 1.25 hour wait to be seen for an apt., several scheduled apts. cancelled last minute… a very poor overall experience!

Dr. Caldarella botched my bunion surgery. My PT and a second podiatrist I saw were shocked at how he actually made the problem worse and did a procedure that was not indicated for my condition. I highly regret using him as a surgeon and will need corrective surgery. Do not recommend trusting him

If your looking for a professional, caring, able to explain conditions so you can understand then you have found him. I went from awful pain to being able to walk without pain!!!!!

I have been a patient of Dr. Caldarella for tendonitis in one foot and plantar fasciitis in the other. He is an excellent listener and communicator, was very patient with all my questions and concerns, and expertly treated both conditions. I highly recommend him!!

Dr. Caldarella operated on my right ankle because it had several issues which left me unable to run for exercise for several months. Before the surgery, he explained all the procedures he could do and their benefits and risks. I decided to go with replacing a tendon, tightening my ligaments, and cleaning up some arthritis. I opted not to go with the proposed bone graft because I was not willing to take on the risks. Not once did Dr. Caldarella pressure me to change my mind. All through this, he knew that my goal was to be able to run again. Following his instructions and doing months of physical therapy, I was able to do a 2 minute run yesterday and today. I have achieved my goal and I am very glad with the results of the surgery.

Dr. Caldarella recently performed foot surgery on my son. Before the surgery, he went over step by step of what he was going and what my son’s post-op care plan would be. After the surgery, he again was very thorough and even had x-ray photos to show me what he did. He makes sure all your questions are answered before you leave the appointment. I highly recommend Dr. Calarella!

Dr. Caldarella was great to work with. He was very thorough and was able to fix my foot in time for me to be able to walk at my Wedding. I will highly recommend.

I had a lis franc joint fracture/dislocation and Dr. Caldarella was awesome! He first tried to treat me with a boot and rest, and then once we realized it was not going to heal, we opted for surgery. He took the time to explain everything, answer all of my questions, and actually listen to me and included my family in our decisions. I recently received the 100% clear and I am so happy. Dr. Caldarella is THE BEST!

I was referred to Dr. Caldarella for problems I was having with my foot. I had a torn tendon. The doctor tried several different procedures such as, an ankle brace and then went further with using a boot. When neither of these helped, he suggested surgery. He was very thorough in explaining every little detail of what I should expect before, during and following the surgery. He was very clear as to what would be necessary and how I would have to follow very strict do's and don'ts after surgery. He has followed up each year for three years. I'm completely satisfied with the professionalism of the doctor and how well I was treated.

I had foot and ankle surgery with Dr. Caldarella in 2016 and I came out worst than when I went in. I had major pain and swelling long after the surgery and decided to go for a second opinion from another orthopedic company only to find out through a MRI that I had a sizeable fracture caused by misplacement of pins by Dr. Caldarella. The doctors that reviewed the MRI were in disbelief at Dr. Caldarella's work. I've since had to have two corrective surgeries to try to undo some of the damage caused by him. I have also developed arthritis at the fracture site because of the compromised bone structure. It is now 2019 and I'm still dealing with pain which affects how long I can stand, I'm unable to run and my footwear options are limited. I was told that I may never be pain free. I regret the day I walked into Dr. Caldarella's office

Dr. Caldarella is an excellent surgeon. He is very thorough in his exam as well as explanation of what he is going to do. He explained everything with all the pluses and minuses of the surgery. He was very detailed in what to and not to expect from the surgery. I was very confident going into surgery, not overly nervous, because I knew I was in great hands. If you want a dr who is knowledgeable I strongly recommend Dr. Caldarella.

David never did SOP for my injury, which he thought was just a sprain ankle. Besides being the dr. that ever spent the least amount of time with me, I don't believe he listened to me. Sprained ankle do take time but it did remain swollen for a year and 2 falls to issues a MRI. Went for 2nd and 3rd opinions and the 2 drs and gave the correct diagnosis on first visit. I called him and he never called back, I text him and never texted back. Do your research first.
