Dr. Nathan Alan Crouch, MD

Nathan Crouch failed to recognize top ten signs of macular degeneration. He also refused to refer his patient, who was going blind in one eye over the course of months in his direct care, to the medical eye doctors (Dr. Crouch is only certified as an optometrist NOT an opthalmologist) in his own office to take a gold standard retinal imaging test (available just down the hall) that would have identified what was causing his patient to rapidly lose vision. This refusal to collaborate with more skilled doctors *in his own office* likely resulted in his patient now needing a shot into their eye regularly every three months for their lifetime instead of 1-3 shots total + monitoring. The patient is not a standard age for macular degeneration (under 40) however, their symptoms were very standard. Ultimately, the patient had to personally request a referral to Mayo Clinic, 7 hours and 3 states away, to be accurately diagnosed due to Dr. Crouch's arrogance.
