Dr. Navina Mehta, MD

I was referred to Dr. Mehta by my neurologist for a sleep disorder. Dr. Mehta was not familiar with my disorder, did not provide any suggestions for treatment, and suggested a repeat sleep study from 2 years ago. I declined the study yet she charged $300 for the initial consultation AND an additional $350 for the sleep study that I declined and did not have. I have never been more disappointed in a doctor that this.

I've been seeing Dr.Mehta for 3 years. Very responsive to calls. I was out of the country and my machine had an error- it was over 10 years old- called the office when I got home 10 days later she had don't the work to insure my new machine was ready. She cares about her patients.

Dr. Navina Nia Mehta of 325 Medical Pkwy Ste 200 Greer, South Carolina 29650-2457 will send phony bills to Medicare FOR $300.00 in your behalf if you call in wanting the INSPIRE device planted in your chest to stop snoring WHICH CAUSES sleep Apnea. This is if you live in the Anderson, SC at least; there are dozens of other Sleep Study related doctors in on this too; most are foreign. They want your Medicare data acting as if they are signing you up for the procedure, then they tell you you do not qualify based on something; what I do not know. A 5 minute phone call. Then they hit medicare with the bill in your name calling it "Telemedicine." Do not pursue the desire for this device; it appears those involved are reaping fraudulent benefits from it. Has anyone actually had this device place in their body???????

I had a sleep study early this year and was confirmed with sleep apnea. I have been on a cpap for many years due to a former sleep study. I was supplied with a new cpap device that is updated compared to my old one. For some reason it does not seem to work as well as my old one. It is supposed to sense episodes and adjust automatically. I still wake up gasping for air with pounding chest and head. I almost never wake up refreshed. I have contacted Dr. Mehta numerous times about this. At one point the max pressure on the unit was raised. The last time I contacted Dr. Mehta it was decided to switch to a bipap. I know that my breathing is blocked while exhaling but I don't think that was checked during my sleep study. So, months later and I am still waking up feeling like crap and nothing is being done, seemingly. I never received the bipap device. I hope this changes soon, I'm on the ragged edge.
