Dr. Deric Wayne Patterson, MD

Dr. Patterson is one of the most kind, caring, compassionate doctors I have ever seen. I have many medical problems and am sure I was a difficult patient, but he was patient and took time to talk with me about my condition and treatment options. I felt like he really cared about me. I have seen many doctors and he is truly one of the best I have been to.

I agree with the previous reviewer and I have seen hundreds of doctors in my life as I have a genetic condition that affects my entire body and this person informed me when he was assigned to me during a recent hospital stay at St. Luke's Downtown that he didn't like me and was not interested in my "piddlly little medical problems", and tried to release me without ever examining me despite several red flags on my blood tests one showing that I will need to take thyroid medication for the rest of my life. Something like that should be obvious to anyone, but certainly someone supposed to be a doctor. The first reviewer had this guy pegged and why St Luke's, the best hospital in the Region, which has so many excellent employees, from the most skilled Doctors, Nurses, Therapists, and State-of-the-Art equipment, and even the friendliest cleaning ladies, is somehow still keeping such rude and offensive on their staff when he is so obviously unfit to do a job he so obviously is… not suited to, and I have never met a doctor so obvious in his deeply felt hate for those in pain or need of medical care. St. Luke's, please do this Misfit and your patients who come to St Luke's because we have experienced such a high level of quality medical care a favor, and put him on a Psychiatric disability, which would do both this most rude and pompous person some help, as well as have your patients get the high quality medical treatment and continue to trust all of the other Doctors, who I am positive would get rave reviews. I dislike leaving a bad review, but there was no lower rating than one star, which is a great overstatement of my opinion of this employee, There are very qualified people who would love his job and do is so much more professionally than Deric W Patterson.

Dr. Patterson treated me at St. Lukes (Meridian) during a recent hospital stay. Not only was he extremely pompous, he was truly uncaring. While trying to talk with him, he was rude and judgemental. He misdiagnosed me and and after leaving St. Lukes and following up with my regular physician, I found out comments made by him that were unprofessional stated in his notes. I believe St. Lukes needs to reconsider hiring such inadequate and uncaring doctors.
