Dr. Charles S. Hummel, MD, PhD

Stay away from him. He doesn't know what he is doing. Especially, stay away if you're pregnant, he will ruin your childbirth experience. He doesn't have the expertise to help you.

Don’t got to this doctor if you are pregnant and especially high-risk. Appointments take literally 5 minutes. He will ignore all tour complains and will just tell you that everything is in tour head. Seriously? In my head? Very unprofessional! Thanks God I switched to another doctor who diagnosed my problems and took care of my pregnancy so that I could deliver a healthy baby.

Does not spend enough time with a patient. My questions remained unanswered. He basically had no idea how to deal with my problem. I ended up changing the doctor. Waste of time and money.

I have always had a preference for female OBGYNS until I was referred to Dr. Hummel. He was able to actually help me with my Lichen Sclerosis and Menopause symptoms. I am so grateful to have finally gotten the care I needed and address the serious impact these two conditions were having on my body and my sex life. Highly recommend. He's professional. He makes referrals when needed. He goes the extra mile and he cares about his patients.

I’ve been seeing Dr Hummel for about 4 years now, and he’s been one of the very few doctors I’ve seen through Kaiser that does have good beside manners. He always makes me feel safe and heard. When I became pregnant it was an easy choice to go with him for my care. One of the things I really do not like about Kaiser is that you don’t know who you are going to get when in active labor. So even though I got to see him throughout my pregnancy he didn’t end up being there for the birth. I did not like any of the doctors that were on call and ended up needing an emergency c section. I still Continue to go see Hummel because I have been able to build a good trusting relationship with him. Seeing some of the other comments I can relate, there were some appointments where I could tell he was backed up on patients and it would reflect on how he would speed up the appointment but Most of the time I have had long appointments with him because I always make sure to ask a lot of questions and for… the most part he gives me his full attention. I have yet to meet the perfect doctor but overall I think Hummel is an honest caring doctor.

Gave birth to my baby on may 2018 and Dr Hummel was the OB that was there at that time. I developed pre eclampsia on the day of my induction and I hemorrhaged after my emergency c section. If it wasn’t for him, I probably would’ve bled out and died. I will forever be grateful for Dr Hummel for saving my life. He is the most caring doctor and made sure to handle my situation and my feelings with care. Thank you Dr Hummel!

He failed to diagnose my issue. I think it's because he is dismissive and does not spend more than 5 minutes with a patient, jumping from one exam room to another. I went to a more professional doctor who was able to help me. Definitely would not recommend him. Also, be aware, he is actively deleting negative reviews, mine including.

This is the worst doctor I've ever seen in my life. I am pretty sure that all of these positive reviews are written by his relatives or by himself. Also he keeps deleting my reviews, so be aware that he leaves here only positive reviews. He is incompetent and negligent. Doesn't have a lot of experience either, so stay away for your own sake.

Dr. Hummel is my current OB and I am 8 months pregnant. He is an incredibly caring, sensitive & gentle human with incredible bedside manner. I love my appointments with him and am so thankful I found him. The other negative reviews here make no sense to me. I have never encountered a single issue with dr. hummel and am lucky to have him. If you are in need of a new OB in the kaiser network i highly recommend him.
