Dr. Adefemi Taiwo is a dual board-certified psychiatrist in the fields of general adult psychiatry, and addiction medicine. He offers a mix of medication management in conjunction with supportive therapy in 30-minute follow-up visits.

Dr. Taiwo received his medical degree University of Lagos Nigeria. He then went on to complete a general psychiatry residency training at Penn State College of Medicine Hershey Pennsylvania. Following completion of his psychiatry residency, he went on to complete a post-graduate addiction fellowship at the Yale VA addiction fellowship in Connecticut.

Since completing his training, Dr. Taiwo has been working with the medically underserved population, particularly with patients who have co-morbid substance use disorders and common psychiatric disorders. He has more than four years of experience treating patients with anxiety, depression, bipolar spectrum disorders, ADHD, obsessive compulsive disorder, and various anxiety disorders. Dr. Taiwo utilizes pharmacotherapy along with cognitive behavioral therapy, psychodynamic psychotherapy, and supportive therapy as needed.

Dr. Taiwos approach to clinical practice is based on a collaborative model with his patients being center stage and seeks to involve them in their treatment decisions rather than a traditional paternalistic approach.
