Dr. Joni Marie Stepp, MD

The staff at MMG is one of the friendliest i've ever encountered. Dr. Stepp is easy to talk to and very friendly as well. The friendly atmosphere makes you forget how bad of a job the staff and Dr. Stepp does. Every appointment comes with a hefty wait time. On more than one occasion I waited and hour to be seen. On both occasions I had a morning appointment, was one of two patients in the parking lot during that hour. The staff seems very confused as to how their job should be performed. The staff does not communicate well with each other as Dr. Stepp seems to not get messages from patients. Dr. Stepp seems to not do call backs. I waited an hour to receive a Covid-19 test. I was positive and went into quarantine but 14 days later there was no covid follow-up from MMG but Princeton hospital did contact me for a wellness check. Dr. Stepp does not diagnose but rather refers you to another doctor for help, only problem is getting the staff to actually set up your visit with the doctor who… can help you. You will need to remind the staff to remind the doctor to call you about your wellness. You will need to make multiple calls to make sure you are scheduled to see specialists if in need. You will do 90% of the work to find doctors that will accept your WV Medicaid. The staff is always courteous.

I have seen Dr. Stepp several times, she asks questions, she listens and has been very helpful. Never had a bad experience with her.

Dr. Stepp is a great physician and she really cares about her patients. After my Dr retired, whom I dearly loved, it was very hard to find somebody with the level of care I received from the Dr I had. Dr Stepp actually filled those shoes and I am very grateful to her. Thanks Dr. Stepp

Was excited to see a new Dr. in our area but before being seen I had to be “approved” by the provider. I was sent forms to fill out which I did and sent back immediately. Called a week and a half later to make sure that they had received forms since I hadn’t heard anything. I was told that they couldn’t find them so they either didn’t get them or the Dr. was still approving. Two weeks later and I have heard nothing. Not professional at all.
