Dr. Lowell Shih, MD

Dr. Shih is the best! He is kind, patient and thorough. He truly cares about his patients and helps guide them through their treatment plan. I am very appreciative of all he has done to help me with my pain issues.

He is the worst doctor I’ve ever seen. He’s dismissive, judgmental and not the least bit interested in trying to help his patients navigate the trauma of post surgery pain. I hate to think how he treats other elderly patients with unbearable pain. Stay far away.

My 97 y/o mother was referred to this "pain management" clinic. Nothing against this doctor, but he only treats spinal injury pain, and only if that pain can be releived without pain medication. I feel like taking my mother there was a waste of time because she is too old for his recommended therapies and she needed "pain management". just put an accurate name on the clinic please so others do not waste time and money coming in for chronic pain unrelated to a spinal injury.

My experience was quite negative. I was referred to this doctor from another provider, and did not meet him before my procedure. He was abrupt in manner, hurried when speaking to me, and most importantly dismissive that I was not numb and could feel the epidural. He also dismissed that I was awake, telling me that he had given me enough versed to relax me. However, I was not relaxed at any point during the procedure or after. He also wrote his notes to be completely different from my actual experience, saying the patient was relaxed, and did not experience discomfort. Well, I can say, I was very anxious, and felt the pain every step. I even heard the needle going into my neck. Afterwards, I was advised, off the record, by one of his colleagues that I should choose a different physician.

Dr. Shih is wonderful he is very knowledgeable and really takes the time to listen and is very through in his diagnosis. Dr. Shih explains all treatment options so you understand, and be confident in the treatment plan he gives you. His staff is friendly and very accommodating. Dr. Shih is definitely who I would recommend !!!
