Dr. Amy Hale, PhD

Amy Hale, PhD, is an attending psychologist in the Division of Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition at Boston Children’s Hospital and an assistant professor of psychology at Harvard Medical School. She specializes in pediatric psychology, with expertise in functional abdominal pain, disorders of gut-brain interaction, anxiety, depression, IBS, and encopresis in children and adolescents. Dr. Hale earned her PhD in clinical psychology from the University of Connecticut and completed fellowship training at the University of Connecticut Health Center and Connecticut Children’s Medical Center. Her clinical and research work focuses on evidence-based behavioral interventions for pediatric chronic pain and gastrointestinal disorders, as well as expanding access to multidisciplinary psychological care for children and families.
